variety of Pulverizer upgrades and repairs, they are the following:
Grinding
Table Segments and Tires of BPS’ sister company Riley Power Inc.’s
improved and proprietary long wearing alloy can be used in all MPS mills,
whether furnished originally by Riley Power Inc. or other manufacturers.
Riley Power Inc. is the current owner and licensor of the MPS technology
for North America.
Replacement Worm Gear Sets for coal pulverizer drives
provide up to 30% more horsepower capacity because of the concave worm
thread and a convex gear tooth. This transmits the load over a larger
contact area, decreasing surface stress and significantly increasing
service life. Standard CAVEX® replacement worm gear sets are available in
a full range of sizes and ratios for coal pulverizer drive applications.
Replacement
Classifiers for any style pulverizer can overcome existing capacity
limitations, increase coal fineness, improve combustion, and reduce
unburned carbon loss. The SLS classifier design is available as an upgrade
replacement classifier for vertical spindle pulverizer designs, regardless
of original manufacturer, as well as other style mills including ball tube
mills.
Babcock
Power Services’ offer boiler upgrades and burner upgrades. BPS'
retrofits for Low NOx firing include versions of BPS’ sister company,
Riley Power Inc.’s market-leading Controlled Combustion Venturi (CCV® )
Burner for wall-fired and cell-fired applications. These burners virtually
“plug-in” to existing burner openings without costly pressure part
modifications. We have sold more than 2,000 of these to utilities and
industrial facilities, including retrofits on several 1300MW units.
Reductions of up to 65% of uncontrolled levels of NOx are possible without
the use of overfire air. RPI also provides low-NOx gas burner technology
and low-NOx burners for its TURBO® Furnaces. BPS offers not just burner
hardware, but integrated system solutions with reliable products proven in
long-term operation in plants like yours.
