Boiler Field EngineeringBabcock Power Services’ (BPS) Boiler Evaluation Department provides inspection, testing, non-destructive examination (NDE), assessment, and metallurgical services to the worldwide industrial and utility power market. BPS has access to the disciplines of boiler design, instrumentation and controls, environmental, burner design, stress analysis, performance engineering and field service.

Plant owners depend on reliable and accurate assessment of boiler components in both emergency and planned outages. BPS has designed its Team Inspection and Condition Assessment programs to determine the current condition of your boiler, pressure part components and/or its auxiliaries. From the information gathered during inspection and testing processes, the goal is to determine and document the current condition of your boiler and its auxiliaries and to report findings that may predict future needs. Recommendations can then be made to remedy the problems.

Examples of what an inspection and condition assessment can do for you

bulletIdentify problem areas and recommend modifications in unit design or operation that will      reduce maintenance and increase unit availability.
bulletProvide a record of unit physical condition, necessary to a remaining life assessment and a      benchmark for future outage inspections.
bulletProvide a record of furnace and convection pass tube thicknesses to be used to track tube wastage rates.
